Keep an inventor's notebook
It is good practice to keep an inventor notebook. Select a book that pages can't be substituted or added;
don't remove any page either. Write down your idea and thoughts sequentially, make sure to date each
page and don't leave large blank area on the book. Don't skip page or remove page. Have witness to
sign and date on last blank space to serve chronological purpose. If you are not comfortable with
someone else to sign your book, like I do, use some other mean to keep chronological. I also keep a
Blog from Google and I log some event from my notebook also at Blog. Since I can't change the time or
date of message I posted, these messages will serve chronological purpose. Of course, use strong
password to protect your Blog.
Take negative review opinion well
It's a common problem among inventors, Inventor often think highly about his/her own inventions;
Sometime, too high. I do that often and I have learned my lessons. The truth is: most good ideas are 2
cents a dozen while brilliant idea may worth a little more. To maximize your chance of success, you need
a better than average idea. If you heard a negative opinion, don't rush into the conclusion that critics
doesn't understand your idea. You ought to think more in their shoes and try to see what they have
seen and you haven't. By take negative opinion well, we can avoid the blind spot of ourselves. If we can
spot the weakness in our invention, sometime, with few improvements, we can turn a good idea into a
brilliant one.
